“Fat Farmers” Rural Health Initiative

“Fat Farmers” began as a group of Yorke Peninsula farming families who train together and participate in the City-Bay Fun Run.  Fat Farmers groups provide farmers with the motivation to set a fitness goal and develop social networks in the process. It’s a great family friendly activity which includes a variety of fitness levels. See the Maitland Fat Farmers talk about why they formed “Fat Farmers” and their approach to fitness and wellbeing.

We have now established “Fat Farmers” teams in the Mallee, Yorke Peninsula (upper and mid), Lower North and we welcome more to join in ! There are new teams forming in the Barossa, Upper South East, Eyre Peninsula and Southern Yorke Peninsula so get on board !
